The Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County recently formed an exciting, beneficial partnership with Best Buy in The Avenue.

The Best Buy staff has visited and toured the facility on several occasions. On one trip, the Best Buy professionals observed the children watching a movie projected on a brick wall with sound coming from two computer speakers.
“We knew right then that we wanted to provide a better experience for the children,” said Jeramy Eberst, customer experience manager. Within a few days, Best Buy installed a mounted, retractable screen on the brick wall and a Bose surround-sound system. “The look on the children’s faces when they arrived from school and heard the song ‘Accidentally in Love’ from ‘Shrek’ blaring on the sound system made it all worth it,” Eberst said.
Since then, Best Buy has donated a $4,000 Bose sound system for the all-purpose room, $10,000 as the company’s charity of choice and agreed to be the entertainment sponsor for the HolidayFest Gala in November. The HolidayFest is the Boys & Girls Clubs’ major annual fundraiser.

“Our involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County is not a one-time thing,” said James Slough, Best Buy general manager. “We look forward to growing this partnership in the future.”
